In the December 2019 Snapshot Survey, we asked contractors about how they participate in philanthropic activities and cause marketing to benefit their communities. Here’s one survey question and its results from the summary report, which is available in its entirety to EGIA members.
Question: Does your contracting company participate in philanthropic activities in the communities you serve? (Example: Donations, free products/services for people in need, volunteering, etc.)
Giving back can help companies improve their reputation with employees, customers, partners, and the community at large. And the more goodwill you implement, the better your brand perception will be. Of the contractors that took our survey, 83% said they give back to their communities and 17% said they do not participate in philanthropic activities. In a follow-up question, over half of the respondents reported plans to increase their participation in philanthropy within the communities they serve.
Here’s what a contractor from California had to say:
“We sponsor a lot of local teams, churches and schools. We are only here because of the communities that we are in. Giving back is a small effort that leads to a larger picture. Who we are. We’re here to serve. That’s our company philosophy.”
